What are the different Patio Heater Types?

Free Standing:
Free standing patio heaters are often portable, full-size, and typically include a housing or mount for the fuel tank. They are great for an outdoor events & parties. Free standing patio heaters come in different heat levels and can heat areas as far as 15 to 20 feat away from their base.

Hanging:
Hanging patio heaters ceiling mounted and hang down from the a patio ceiling, deck rafters, or other enclosure roof. They work great in small spaces, because they don’t take up any room floor space, wall space, or counter/table space. Most hanging patio heaters are electric and require semi-permanent installation.

Tabletop:
Tabletop patio heaters are the easiest type to transport, move around, and are an excellent option for small group – parties & dinner gatherings. Tabletop heaters are available in electric or propane and can be placed on a table or similar surface. The propane type typically have a compartment for the propane tank in the unit.

Tank Top:
Tank Top patio heaters are as basic and simple as you can get. They require low maintenance and connect directly to the top of a propane tank. They are cost-efficient, as they typically are purchased with the propane included. They are similar to some tabletop types but have larger tanks and emit more heat so they are better for larger areas to be heated.

Wall Mounted:
Wall-mounted patio heaters work good for small spaces, where there is not enough room for a freestanding or tabletop types. Typically are designed for permanent installation on a deck, patio, or other outdoor enclosure wall and most commonly are electric.

 

What are the Different Patio Heater Fuel or Power Sources?

Natural Gas / Propane are the most popular heaters in most cases but some customer prefer to use electrical power patio heaters. Electric Patio Heaters are easy to install and maintain but have a higher power/fuel cost if used for extended periods of time. Gas Patio Heaters in most cases have the advantage of being extremely portable because the use a gas canister for fuel and can be rolled around to the exact location where the heat is needed with out having any power cords to deal with.

 

How large of an area can a Patio Heater heat?

When choosing the optimal outdoor heater, consider how much of your patio you are looking to heat and where most of your guests will tend to sit or stand while spending time outside.
